Busy as a BEE!

Ha, since it has been over a week since my last post, I guess y'all can see how busy I am! I'm actually taking a break between projects at work to clear my mind so I can tackle the next task! Things are going great in my new position at United Way - I'm learning SO many new things, and I'm just continuing to thank my Jesus for giving me the chance to make a difference in so many lives every single day.

I am going to a new women's small group at church, and I am loving it! I wasn't feel "attached" to my church in the past, so I thought this would be a great way to not only get me more acquainted with other church members, but also strengthen my relationship with Christ. We are using a book that is solely centered around women in the Bible - I will have to write more about the discussions we have each week - they are completely awe-inspiring! I am also reading Max Lucado's "Come Thirsty" - WOW, that's all I can say about it so far...when I have more time, I'll write more about the things I am learning through that!

Things are moving along quite nicely for the Warnock family, and I cannot WAIT FOR COOLER WEATHER! We are dying in this humid, hot, sticky, make-you-sweat-walking-to-your-car weather! I'm so excited for temperaturesin the 60s and FOOTBALL!! Looks like we're going to be dealing with these 100+ temperatures for a few more weeks :( Oh well!

'Til later, y'all!

God is GOOD.

I keep telling myself this over and over - GOD IS GOOD!!!

Things have really been changing in my life lately - but all for the better!

We (at United Way) hired a new Director of Campaign and Communications in July - well, last Monday, she turned in her letter of resignation! Things were just not working out with her, and she felt like she should just step down before she got too involved in things. Well, I had been feeling like I needed to talk to my boss about adding some duties to my job description - basically, I was wanting to work more with marketing and communications because that's my real passion. It is, after all, what I went to school for. God was really pressing me to talk to her about it. So, after Jessica turned in her resignation, I felt like this was the right time.

And boy, was it! My boss was so incredibly excited that I wanted to become more involved with marketing. So, I now have TWO titles - Director of Project PASS and Director of Marketing and Communications! I am so excited about learning new things and challenging myself each day. God is so good to me.

'Til later, y'all!

Excitement!

I know, I know...two posts in one day?!??! I'm just so excited to share the news that both Brad and I have both been accepted to be Big Brothers/Big Sisters! We are so very excited about this opportunity! Praise God!

Yes God, I hear you.

Whoa. Today has been one of those days. And it's only 10 a.m. Let me tell you how it all started...

Last night, I was having some major women's issues, so I took one of my gigantic horse pills that knocks me out. And boy was I knocked out. This morning, I awake to Brad yelling, "OH MY GOSH!" Ugh-oh. Not a good thing to wake up to. Sleepily, I answer..."what's wrong?" Brad gives the doomed answer, "It's 7:50."

"7:50!?!!?!!!" And I have to be at work in 10 minutes. And it takes me 6 minutes to get there! AHHHHH!!!! Change into super overload mode!

I ran around frantically, thankfully Brad called in and said he would be a little late, so he was able to iron my clothes and help me out the door.

I got to work around 8:20 - without saying a single curse! Yes God, I hear you.

Once I got to work, I checked my email quickly, returned some phone calls, and got ready to leave the office to go pick up lunch for Rachel, my boss, since today is her birthday! I pull into the restaurant parking lot and realized that I had left the envelope with the all the money on my desk. Put it into reverse, and back to the office I go. Pick up the lunches, check.

Needless to say, in all the chaos that was my morning, I have never been in such a good mood! The day is beautiful, I have clothes on my back, and I have a great job to go to - no complaints here. Let's just hope the day starts to calm down.

'Til later, y'all!

A change of pace.

Today, I wasn't feeling well during my lunch hour, and I felt very sick to my stomach. Brad felt my head and said that I had a slight fever. Well, since today has been slow for me at work, I decided to stay home. Plus I was dealing with some major female pains, ladies, you know what I'm talking about.

So, I rested for an hour or so, then I became restless. I can't just lie down somewhere, unless it's nighttime. I got up, went down to the "man room"/laundry room - the garage that has been turned into a bonus room, and I was immediately disgusted. The man room has been neglected since Brad and I got married. It contained all of Katy's (my sister) stuff until she moved into her townhouse. After she moved, we straightened everything up, but didn't do much else. Well, I got inspired. I picked up, dusted, moved furniture, and vacuumed. I tell you, I don't think we've vacuumed in there since May!!! Well, it looks splendid now. I'm really proud.

After I started in the man room, I just couldn't stop. Brad and I, well really just me, are really tidy, so the place wasn't a mess. I organized the closet and did a run through of the entire house. I am wired now, and I am so very pleased with my adorable, clean house. One day, I will actually post pictures of all the rooms, so I can make y'all jealous!

I've been praying a lot lately for family and friends, and most recently, I have started to pray for more direction in my life. Ever feel like you're running in the same place? That's kind of how I'm feeling now. We'll see what answers come in the future. I know I'm leaving it all in HIS hands, and I feel much better knowing He's on my side.
