Stella Style - what I love!

I have really love building my collection of Stella & Dot since I became a stylist.  After all, that was one of the main reasons I joined the Stella & Dot team!  I love this line of jewelry so much, and by being a stylist, it gives me an extra incentive to be able to earn the pieces that I really want!

I thought it might be helpful to show you some of my favorite pieces and how I wear them.  Any questions you have about any of the pieces, please let me know!  Also, if you're interested in hosting your own trunk show (did you know that our hostess earn on average $250 in FREE jewelry + 4 HALF-priced items?) - then please let me know!  Or are you a lover of  Stella & Dot like myself and want to take your love even further?  Please, do not hesitate to contact me for more information.

Feel free to shop my website - there are so many pieces to love!  www.stelladot.com/lenawarnock

Love the Nahla necklace - it's easily paired with a simple striped top & colorful blazer!  A very versatile piece!
The Medina Bib necklace is such a beautiful piece - it adds that extra pizazz to a boring black sweater!
I love the Paradise Brooch for so many reasons - add it to a necklace for a dressier look, or add it to a cardigan for a somewhat vintage look!
Oh, the Sofia Pearl Bib necklace - I wear this thing at least twice a week.  Paired with a flirty polka dot top & bright cardigan, and you are ready to go!
The Bamboleo is definitely a statement piece - I wore this necklace with a plain t-shirt and a khaki blazer, and it added the extra pop of color I needed!
Who wouldn't love this fun and funky Renegade Cluster ring?  It was an "out of the style-box" purchase for me, but I have loved wearing this ring!
Again, the Medina Bib adds a little something extra to my boring striped shirt!  Another best seller for Stella & Dot, you won't regret this purchase!

Stacking bracelets might be my new favorite thing to do - I paired the Bardot Spiral Bangle, the Tribute bracelet and the Vintage Twist bracelet to make the ultimate arm party!

I hope that y'all have enjoyed going through my favorites from Stella & Dot as much as I have loved wearing them all!  Have a stylin' day, y'all!

Our first vlog...don't judge!

Stop and Smell the Roses

Annie Louise and I did our very first vlog - I realize that it's very random and not very well-thought out, but I knew if I didn't do it now, I probably wouldn't ever do it!  My blog-friend, Nina, did her first one last week, and that was all the extra "push" I needed to link up.  I'm linking up with Mandy of House of Rose - a favorite blog of mine!

Daddy had cross fit last night, so it was the perfect opportunity for us.  I hope you'll enjoy it, and next time, I'll try to be more prepared!  I have loved getting to know more about my favorite bloggers through their own vlogs, and I hope it will do the same for you!

I've got nothing...

I'm in a blogging "rut" - I have no idea what to write about.

Does that happen to anyone else?

I usually make a list of blog topics, and then I'll sit down for an hour or so and write them all out.

But today?  I'm at a loss.

I have seen lots of my blog friends do a questions post - I'm not sure that I have enough readers, but we'll give it a shot.

So, any questions you have, let me know!

Help this mama get out of her blog-pit!

Grant's Safari Party!

I’m such a late blogger, but my blog “to do” list was overwhelmed for a few days, so I’m just now posting about my nephew’s 3rd birthday (that happened 2 weeks ago!)…oops!
Anyways, my sweet nephew, Grant-man, turned 3 this year!  I can’t believe it – it seems like yesterday we were awaiting his arrival!  And now, he’s a big boy!
My sister and brother-in-law held his fun Safari Party at the local children’s museum, The Discovery Center!  It was the perfect setting for toddlers and preschoolers!
We had such a fun time seeing all of the fun animals, and we had an even more fun time exploring and playing!  Annie Louise loves to visit the Discovery Center, and it’s a great place to let her run around and just play!
Here are a few pictures of our fun times!

18 months!

Annie Louise, you are 18 months old.
How in the world did we ever get here?  And where did my sweet, calm and quiet baby go?
You no longer understand the words “be still.”  Those 2 little words do not exist anywhere in your ever-growing vocabulary.
Instead words like “wild” and “rambunctious” and “loud” come to mind.
Here’s how you measure at 18 months:
Weight: 25 pounds, 10 ounces (69th percentile)
Height: 35 inches tall (98th percentile)
just the cutest set of pigtails you have ever seen!

A few things that you love at 18 months old:
You love to be outside.  You love to run around with a huge smile on your face, like it’s the greatest day of your life.  You prefer to walk on the grass, not the pavement, like any country girl would.  You literally kick and scream when it’s time to go inside.  You stand at the door and cry “side, side” (outside) like you may never get to go out there again.
You love ice cream.  Even more than ice cream, you love ice cream sandwiches.  You love it when mama gets you a treat after dinner.  You can polish off an ice cream sandwich faster than anyone I know.  The mess afterwards is big, but so worth it.
You love animals.  And you love to learn all about them.  If you see a cat, you excitedly yell “CAT! CAT!” – the same goes for dog, too!  You love to look at books that have animals – and you love to learn what kind of sound they make.  Right now, we for sure know that cows go “moooooooooooooo.”
napping with 2 babies in the car!
You love princesses.  And baby dolls.  And all things girl.  And you know what?  We so didn’t push that on you.  You developed that love yourself.  You love to go to the DVD cabinet and pull out “Beauty and the Beast” or as you call it, “Beast.”  You sit so still in your little chair while that movie is on, it will only be a matter of time until you’ll know all the words.  Oh, how you love your baby dolls!  You love to hold them, push them in the stroller, take all their clothes off, feed them…you are definitely a little mama, and I love it!  Most nights, you pick 2 babies to take with you to bed, and in the morning, you are still clutching them so tightly while you sleep.  Almost makes my heart explode….
You love to give love.  You are definitely a lover, not a fighter (most days – we’re still working on sharing).  You love to give hugs and kisses…and your new favorites?  Eskimo and butterfly kisses.  The way your little nose scrunches up when you give Eskimo kisses is just the cutest thing ever.  And the way you sit really still, waiting to feel a butterfly kiss is precious.  You love to give big hugs, and whenever you meet new “friends,” you love to give them a big hug, too!  I hope you are always this sweet!  Sometimes, you stop whatever you’re doing and come over and give me a hug and a kiss.  It’s like you know I need it, and for a second, the world is perfect.
You love to say your ABCs.  Even though we don’t make it much past C, you still mimic the song and lyrics.  “Twinkle twinkle, little star” is probably a close second.  But you look the cutest when we sing “if you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands” – oh my word, I wish I could bottle up your cute little self when you point to your face during “…then your face will surely show it” – almost too much for mama.  We are already looking into dance classes for the fall because you love to sing and dance!
standing INSIDE a box - never mind what was in the box!
Some new words we discovered this past month:
Sunshine
Bracelet
Princess
Shirt
Pants
Sock
Out
Up
Down
My personal favorite - whoo hoo!
a ponytail....a tiny one, but it was too cute!

What has mama learned this month?
I never imagined that someone so small could have so much energy.  Even though I am absolutely dog-tired and can barely keep my eyes open after you go night night, I know that I’m so blessed and wouldn’t trade any of it.  I oftentimes wonder what we did before we had you – and on the nights when you stay at SheShe & PopPop’s, I find myself wishing you were at home with me.  You have made everything so full of life – you have brought so much joy and excitement to every single day.  You are the reason I laugh so hard I almost cry.  And you’re the reason I worry myself to sleep some nights.  You are the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to me, and I thank God every single day for you.

Thirty-One giveaway!

Big thank you to Pam @ Our Love Nest for letting me host today’s Thirty-One giveaway!  I absolutely love this company and their products.  I mean, who wouldn’t love a company with the following mission statement:

"Our mission is a reflection of this philosophy: to celebrate, encourage and reward women by offering quality products and an outstanding opportunity to become successful business owners. We have seen this mission play out through the years in the individual lives of so many women who now have their own "Thirty-One story." Many work full-time jobs and use their Thirty-One income to help pay for those extras in life like vacations. Some of our Consultants had a dream to be debt-free and have paid off houses and cars. Others have seen Thirty-One become a lifeline to their families in difficult economic times. Despite all the bad news we hear today, our Consultants are selling at record rates."

I was first introduced to Thirty-One through my granny after she ordered my some items after my Annie Louise was born.  And I’ve been hooked since then.

Below are the products I received back in 2010, and I still use them to this day!

I use the Organizing Utility Tote for our emergency diaper bag – it is always in the car with us in case we ever forget the big diaper bag, which has happened many times, believe it or not!  I love all of the pockets to hold things like baby sunglasses, sunscreen, diaper cream, wipes, all the things that you carry daily.  Plus, it’s super roomy inside – large enough for an extra change of clothes, toys and blankets, too. See...look how much room!

I also have this handy Littles Carry All Caddy  to hold diapers,
wipes & cream inside – it’s so cute!

Fast forward to now – when I “met” Pam through twitter and her blog, I was super excited to see she was a Thirty One consultant!  Just last month, I ordered a couple of things from her for my Stella & Dot business…see pictures below.

I ordered the Large Utility Tote (pictured above) to carry all of my jewelry and display items for trunk shows – isn’t it just adorable?  Pam was great at helping me select a font and thread to make it extra cute.  It’s the perfect size for my trunk in my car, too.  I love it so much; I’m ordering another one during her catalog party on her blog! Again...look how roomy!

I also got the Mini Utility Bin (pictured above), to hold all of my “extras” for trunk shows – all of my lookbooks and order forms fit nicely inside – I’m definitely going to order another one of these, too.  I think they would be just perfect for a playroom to hold and organize toys and books.  Oh, and how cute would it be in your bathroom with rolled towels?  There are some many ways you can use it!

And guess what?

You can enter to win a Mini Utility Bin in the Flutter pattern!  Thanks to my giveaway sponsor, Kodi, for supplying this great item for my giveaway!

Isn’t the pattern oh-so fun and just perfect for Spring?  I love it!

Here's how you can enter to win....just leave a comment on this post telling me how you would use this lovely item!  It's that easy! But hurry, the giveaway will end on March 22nd, and we'll announce the winner on the 23rd!

And while you’re at it, go visit Pam’s blog HERE and shop her catalog party  (you can see the whole catalog HERE) – I promise you will find something you love!

Prayer request for Katelyn.

If you have been following me on twitter or facebook, you know that I just recently found out that one of my closest sorority sisters from college just found out she has cancer.

Let me tell you a little bit about this amazing woman that I’m blessed to call a friend.

Katelyn and I met when we both joined the same sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, in 2002.  We were just 2 new “alphas” (or new members) in a sea of tons of young women.  I will never forget really getting to know her at our new member retreat.  I couldn’t decide if I loved her or hated her.  By the end of the weekend, I loved her with every single bone in my body.  She’s hilarious.  And sarcastic.  And poetic.  And kind.  Everything that a friend (and sister) should be.

Because our last names started with the same initial, we always sat beside each other in our weekly sorority meetings.  We laughed about what stupid stuff we did that weekend.  We talked about how we were stressed out or “over” everything.  And during my senior year, when I had my special candlelight to announce my engagement to B, Katelyn held my engagement ring for me until it was over.

When I think back on my college years, a lot of my most cherished memories involve her.

Even after college, we remained close.  Although we do not live in the same area of the state, we would always catch up at wedding showers and weddings for our ADPi sisters.  I will never forget seeing her at a wedding one summer, and she told me she had just recently had a miscarriage.   My heart broke for her, as I knew how desperately she wanted to be a mother.

But then, a few months later, I rejoiced with her when she revealed that she was pregnant again.

And when B and I lost our baby in August of 2009, she was one of the first people that I called because I knew she would know the exact words to say.  And she did.  Everything that she told me, I now pass on to my other friends that have experienced loss through miscarriage.  That’s how amazing and comforting her words were to me.

I called her the day I went to the doctor for my pregnancy confirmation with our Annie Louise.  I knew right then and there, she would be my prayer warrior.

Fast forward 2 years, Katelyn is now mama to Avery (2) and sweet Owen (6 weeks).  And she has cancer.
I wish I could say something profound here, but the words aren’t there.  Katelyn is a fighter in every sense of the word, and I know she will beat this.
She began her first chemo treatment on Monday, and chemo should last about 12 weeks.  I know many of you have been praying for her already and have asked for updates.

Here are specific ways you can pray for Katelyn:
-She has developed anemia – please pray that this will cease.  Please pray for her strength as well, as she has had 6 blood transfusions since March 1st.

-A very sad side effect of the chemotherapy is that no one can come in contact with any bodily fluids – kisses, tears, sweat, anything – this means very limited cuddles for the next 3 months.  Can you imagine not being able to hold your sweet babies whenever you pleased?  Please pray that some modified cuddles (with a blanket barrier) will work – this is something we can all pray for specifically.

- Please pray for her babies and family – seeing someone they love so much in this type of situation is not easy for anyone.  Please pray that they can feel God’s everlasting love around them, holding them up.

If you feel led to give to Katelyn and her family in another way beside prayer, please email me at thewarnockfamily@yahoo.com – we have a running list of needs for her family, and I would be happy to pass that information on to you.  Please continue to pray for my sweet friend, I know she can feel them!

This is me with Katelyn last spring at our friend, Mandie's wedding shower - our girls FINALLY get to meet!

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the Earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be wear, and young men shall fall exhausted, but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
- Isaiah 40:28-31

This week's shower thoughts...

Man, what a busy week it’s been! When I am uber busy, I usually have lots and lots of thoughts that run through my head…not just during my shower, but also while I’m trying to sleep, eat, drive, work, etc. Anyone else like that?

I really need a vacation. Like badly. I have been dreaming about the beach – all of this nice, warm weather is like a tease to me. It makes me long for the sand and the surf. I wish I could just pack up my stuff and head straight for Destin. However, one must have vacation time to do something like that. And that’s something I’m lacking right now.

Speaking of vacations, I have started thinking and planning for a Disney World trip for Spring Break 2013. AL will be 2.5 years old, and from what I have heard, this is a great age to go. Not to mention, when they are under 3, it’s all FREE. No, she probably won’t remember it. But I will – and let’s face it, she’s totally into the princesses right now at 18 months, I can’t imagine what she’ll be like next year. So, we are going to set up a savings account, and we are researching away. I know we want to stay in a Disney resort – it’s so much more convenient, plus they have some great package deals! Any helpful tips/advice you have, PLEASE send them my way! I have a whole list of questions going, so if you’re a Disney World expert, let me know!

I was way into re-decorating and re-modeling our house there for a bit, and I took a break once I started working full-time again. Well, the bug is back. And I’m ready to make some changes. I’ve been thinking about some summer projects I would like to work on, and I’ve been debating on moving AL out of her nursery (a very small room, used to be our office) and moving her into our playroom/office. It’s a much bigger room. The only thing holding me back is I LOVE having a playroom. I’m not big on having a ton of toys in one’s bedroom (won’t they want to play with them all the time?), but I would love for AL to have a bigger room (for a bigger toddler bed). I could keep most of the pieces that are in the nursery (minus the crib and changing table) and turn it into a cute, shabby chic office to use for my Stella & Dot business. Mamas with toddlers – do your little ones have a bedroom full of toys, or do you have a separate room JUST for their toys? Oh, if I only had a bonus room, all of my problems would be solved!

Potty training is on my mind. We recently bought a little potty to put in the bathroom, so AL would get used to see one around. She’s definitely interested in it. When mama goes potty, here comes little AL…and she sits on her own potty. I am thinking once she’s out of Wee School for the summer, we will start training. I’ve heard it’s way easier in the summer because they don’t have a ton of clothes on, which can get difficult. Girl mamas – when did your little ones start potty training?

B is already on the new car hunt. He currently has a 2001 Explorer Sport – it’s 2-door, which is not fun with a car seat. He has over 200,000 miles on it, and we’ve already invested about $3,000 in it in the past year. He wants to get another 50,000 out of it. We’re hoping to save up enough to pay cash money for our next vehicle – car payments scare me. Wish us luck on trying to decide on a car that we both like, is safe, a reasonable price, in good condition, etc. etc. etc.

I feel so out of shape. Yes, I run up the stairs (4 flights) about 8 or so times a day, but that’s the extent of my work outs. I don’t have time in the mornings to work out (um, hello – I get up at 5 a.m. every morning), and I’m too beat at the end of the day to do anything physical. I can’t wait until the days are longer, I’m thinking that will give me the extra push to get outside and do something active! Speaking of active, B starts CrossFit this week…wish him luck!

My birthday is in a couple of weeks – I am one of those people that LOVE birthdays.  I hope my extra sweet hubby will get me something awesome!  Hint, hint…

Thanks for going through my “shower thoughts” with me – are you posting your own?

Let me know!

Love all things paper? Check this out!

Everyone that knows me well knows that I love all things paper.  Stationery – notecards, notepads, letter sheets, labels – all of it.  I love it.

I actually worked for a stationery business for over 5 years, and I work there one Saturday a month just so I can stay in the loop.  I learned all about the etiquette of a wedding invitation, social invitation, and a thank you note.  I learned what does and does not need to be included on an invitation.  I have touched the finest cotton paper, and I can tell you all about some print processes.  Yes, it’s an obsession.

So, I can’t tell you how excited I was when I discovered my own little slice of stationery heaven known as The Pinwheel Press.

When I was searching for a stationery set for my family – flat notecards, return address labels, mailing labels and gift labels – they went above and beyond my wildest dreams!  I wanted something that I could use for all of us – something with our family name and our names individually, something bold and bright.

And the best part?  They are so friendly, quick and accommodating, which earns big points in my book!

Here are a few of my pieces that created for me...remember, they can take almost any one of their designs and change the colors to your fancy!
our gift labels

the flat notecards

my social media cards that I was going to take to Blissdom :(

And guess what?  They want to offer the wonderful readers of LeeLee and B a special discount!  Just visit their shop here and enter “mattiemae” to get 10% off your order!

My Stella & Dot launch!

This past Saturday, I hosted my first trunk show for Stella & Dot – this one was special because it was my launch trunk show!  I actually signed up at the end of January as a stylist, but the month of February is so jam-packed (and so short), that this was actually the first free day I had to host!  It was actually quite the blessing, because I was able to plan more, send out a ton of invitations and make it extra cute!

For those of you that don’t know much about Stella & Dot trunk shows, let me give you a little rundown...from the Stella & Dot website -

Stella and Dot, an Inc. 500 Fastest-Growing Company, is a San Francisco based social selling company that creates flexible entrepreneurial opportunities for women. Our boutique-style jewelry and accessories line is available exclusively through in-home Trunk Shows by Independent Stylists and online. Our one of a kind collections are designed by celebrated New York designers and featured in Gossip Girl, In Style and Lucky Magazine as well as on the wrists and necklines of today's hottest celebrities. The Today Show, Wall Street Journal and The New York Times have praised Stella & Dot for our innovative social shopping concept which brings together the best of ecommerce, social media, personal service and passionate earning to create the ultimate home based business for today's modern woman.

this was one of the displays I set up for my show!
I decided to have 2 times set aside on Saturday for the show so that it would be more convenient for my guests.  I planned a “Brunch & Bling” from 10 a.m. until noon and a “Sweets & Sparkles” from 2 until 4 p.m.  Once I had my times nailed down, I sent out a save the date email to all of my contacts letting them know that I was embarking on a new adventure as a stylist and let them know the date for my launch trunk show.  I printed invitations (I used a cute template provided by Stella & Dot) and sent them to all of my contacts.  Yes, this was time consuming, but it was probably the smartest thing I did.  Instead of just sending out an evite, my guests received an actual invitation, and it made it more fun.  I will for sure do this at all of my trunk shows, time willing.

Since I had a few weeks to prepare, I also had some time to collect lots of great samples for the show, and my sweet sponsor, Jessica, also let me borrow some of her goodies!  I had tons of samples for guests to try on – which was a HUGE hit!

I kept all of the “hostess” duties very minimal (which is hard for a party planner like myself) – for brunch, I had a mimosa bar with a couple different kinds of juices, donut holes, mini quiches and fresh fruit.  For the afternoon party, I had the mimosa bar again, a Riesling, thumbprint cookies, mini cheesecakes and fresh fruit.  Very simple, as I wanted all of the attention on the jewelry, not the food!

It was a very successful launch indeed.  I made 2 goals for the day, and I’m proud to say that I met both of them.  My family and friends came out and supported me in more ways than one.  But the best part?  I had an absolute blast!  I cannot wait to have another trunk show, and I am motivated to just take off with my new business adventure!

Are you interested in helping me SURPASS my goal?  Then, PLEASE head over to my website at www.stelladot.com/lenawarnock and purchase yourself (or someone else) something new for spring! I guarantee you will find something you love!  When checking out, please select  “Lena Warnock” as the trunk show – I’m hoping to earn lots of great rewards to continue to build my sample collection!

Want to host your own trunk show?  It’s super easy and lots of fun!  On average, hostesses receive over $250 in FREE JEWELRY plus 4 half off items!  Um, hello…that’s a no brainer!  Contact me at thewarnockfamily@yahoo.com if you want to hear more!  I’m starting to book up for March and April, so hurry!

Storms.

On Friday, we had a bunch of storms come rolling into Tennessee.  We had been warned about the threat of these storms all week long.  Meteorologists from The Weather Channel came into Nashville on Friday to broadcast from "storm central."  From a scale of 1 to 10, middle Tennessee was at a 9 for the possibility that a tornado would develop.

I was fine when I went in to work - AL stays at my mom's all day on Fridays, so I knew she would be safe with her.  But the more that people at work began to talk about the storms, the more I started to freak out.  My boss was out of there by lunchtime.  Everyone else was dropping like flies.

Then, sheer panic began to set in.  And I lost it.  I went to the head administrative assistants on my floor, and just started sobbing.  I was literally scared to death.

My sister also works in the same building I do, and she was supposed to ride home with me after work.  I wanted to leave, but I knew she had lots of things left to complete.  But I could NOT leave my sister there while I drove home.

Eventually, I think she saw that I was in "full on breakdown mode" and we left work an hour early, just before a bad storm rolled in.

The whole point of this is that before I became a mother, I was fine in the middle of storms.  I knew, for the most part, that I was going to be okay.  I never freaked out, and I never had a break down.

All I could think of on Friday was my precious baby girl.  I wanted to be right beside her.  I wanted to hold her and kiss her and love on her.  It literally scared me to death that I was so far from her.

I realized how truly blessed I am that AL gets to spend the majority of her week with my mom while I'm at work.  During bad storms or scary weather, she will be with a familiar face, a person she loves dearly.

The good part of this story is that a lot of us were praying all day long that these storms would not be as bad as they predicted.  And a lot of them weren't.  We saw some heavy rain, lots of wind and some hail, but thank the Lord, no tornadoes were close.

I know a lot of other towns weren't as fortunate.

To my twitter and blog friends that specifically prayed for us, THANK YOU.  Your prayers were heard and were much appreciated.

I took this after I got to my mom's house to show all my twitter gals that I made it home safely to AL!
SO blessed!
We're barely into March and tornado season is upon us.  Lord help us during the rest of the spring months...

Stella Style Friday....pearls!

Before I start, I would like to say sorry I have been so absent from the blog lately - here's hoping I can catch up!

I'm from Tennessee - the South - born and raised.  A BIG accessory in the South is pearls.  Lots of gals have them, and we all love them.  So, when I joined the Stella & Dot team as a stylist, the first sample that I knew I had to have was the Sofia Pearl Bib necklace.

And I'm so glad I got it.

Every time I wear it, I get tons of comments.  I think I could be wearing a potato sack with this necklace, and people would notice it.

It's a statement piece, in every sense of the word.

The thing I really love about it (and the whole Stella & Dot line) is that it's so versatile.  You can wear it with a t-shirt and jeans and look super cute.  Or you could wear it with a cocktail dress and look super glam.

Here's 2 examples of how I have worn it recently.....

With a striped oxford and a cardigan for a more preppy, casual look -

and

then to a recent charity ball, I wore it with an ivory lace, kind of vintage-y cocktail dress....

Both times I wore it, people commented on how much they loved my necklace.

I'm seriously in love with all the pieces, but I have a feeling this baby is going to be a best seller for me!
